Dear FPCLA,
I started reading The Last Week by Marcus Borg and John Dominic Crossan. They wrote, “[Jerusalem] is the city of God and the faithless city, the city of hope and the city of oppression, the city of joy and the city of pain.” I think this is true for all religious communities. Sometimes attending church is just a habit. Sometimes church is where people feel persecuted. Church people are the most judgemental people with all their values, traditions, and views. Sometimes, church is where people feel the most pain.
Meditation: Have you been hurt or persecuted by church or church people? What did you do?
Blessings,
Pastor Eula
