April 14, 2022 FPCLA Lenten Word Meditation

four community hands interlocked

Dear FPCLA,

Today is Maundy or Holy Thursday. It is a day when Jesus celebrates his final Passover with his disciples where he commands his disciples to love one another as he has loved them. During this day, Christians re-enact the washing of the feet as Jesus washed his disciples’ feet. And often, they will partake in a simple meal.

Well today, my sister and her family are flying to town. And every time she comes over, it’s always a feast because she wants to eat mom’s home cooked food and food she misses and wants to try. I am imagining the food, drink, conversation, laughter, and other activities during Jesus’ Passover meal with his friends. And I am thinking what a perfect timing for my sister and her family to arrive. We will feast as Jesus did. With boba drinks instead of wine. 🙂

Meditation: Do you celebrate or observe Maundy/Holy Thursday? Why or why not?

Blessings,
Pastor Eula
