Dear FPCLA,
This morning I received news that our friend’s father passed away in Nepal in the care of his family at home. I remember the last time I saw him was in Nepal, and he was taking care of his baby granddaughter. He was a beautiful unassuming man with quiet strength…a person that didn’t go out of his way to get attention. Prayers to my friends and their family.
I often wonder what Jesus thought about death. Perhaps the first loved one that passed was his father, Joseph. There are speculations that Joseph was an older man who married a young Mary. There is nothing in the Gospels that reveal what happened to Jesus’ father. Did the death of father push Jesus to start his ministry later in life? How did death effect Jesus’ outlook on life?
