Dear FPCLA,
The war still rages in the Ukraine. My UU pastor friend and I were having lunch in Chinatown, and we discussed why humanity continues to go to war. I wondered why Christians go to war (kill) with Christians. It is as if religion really doesn’t matter. More often than not religion is used to justify their violent actions as we have seen in history. German philosopher Hegel said, “The only thing that we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history.” It makes me sad and angry that religion is used by nations/people to justify their terrible actions. I hope and pray we can learn from out past and make ourselves more loving and compassionate to all.
